ONSKAPT (Swe): "Draco Sit Mihi Dux" CD
(Oaken Shield)

We had this available previously but because of the wildly varying fortunes of Selbstmord Productions, now deceased, it was impossible to obtain a steady supply: the album was out of print for a lot of the time. Since then the rights were sold to Adipocere, who have re-issued it through their Oaken Shield imprint. The result is that as of now the album will be readily and easily available, so long as it is kept in print. ONSKAPT's music is of exceptionally high quality: their Black Metal sounds very similar to MAYHEM's "De Mysteriis dom Sathanas", though it tends to be slower and more depressive, with a touch of religious fundamentalism. Therefore, you can expect a strong Nordic flavour, with distorted arpeggios allowed to dominate and display a creative array of dynamic resources. Adding to these commendable qualities, I have to note the weird, demented, twisted vocals, delivered by a creature whose mind has been abandoned to all manner of predatory sorrows and unspeakable terrors. If you were too slow to do what it took to discover this wondrous perversion before its original incarnation vanished from the shelves, you are urged not to compound your crime by delaying a single day more.
