Shadows of the Past CD, 2004
(Reference #DISCD04-01)
If the band wanna win recognition, it's not enough to be able to hold the guitars in hands. The band need some brains to create the unique musical idea & some talent to release it. Young band Condemned Cell from Moscow presents its first demo-tape, that's not successed. May be the band have not enough brains, may be the musucians can not play guitars, may be the first and the other. Nevertheless One Hundred Percent and Destro'em All show the speed possibilities of Condemned Cell, but the next long and boring compositions are full of mistakes in rhythm and are false at all. I understand, that the band records this demo in awful conditions, but it's not correct to suppose that the bad quality of this demo has forward dependences with quality of band's talent. Vocal is not so growling and brutal, it's remind shitty voice of KORROZIA METALLA. Drums, I think, are the replaced with the skilless drum-machine. Guitarists try to support this stupid rhythm-box with thier nacked melodies and chords. This sad situation is sometimes fades out, owning to the fact that the keyboards appear. On the whole, Condemned Cell has been created naughty and unprofessional demo. Nothing but critics for this moment! Andy BlackSmith, 1998 What the fuck is this?! Some incomprehensible doom metal with disgusting vocals and shitty lyrics in the vein of MORTICIAN, played by three brainless kids??? Indeed, human stupidity and lack of talent have no limits... I dont need this and never will. I wont be surprised to see these assholes playing shitty BM in the near future... Trend rules over such individuals, damn it. Review from internet, 1998 Yes, not long time ago, today's geniuses could not even think, what would be in the future. Of course, they could not imagine their life after a while. Everything was started in 1998. In those times i did not assumed that such talent musicians lived near me. Five years ago i was not good judge of metal music, so what could i say about that strange melodies, played by Condemned Cell??? Time has past, my opinions have changed. Now i living in a new world, where Condemned Cell's music dominates. I saw the times, when these musicians was nothing, i saw the times when these musicians worked harder and harder at own skill. Their music competition was growing and my respect was growing too. So, five years have been past since Condemned Cell's foundation. I think, their music is far from perfection - there's nothing perfect in this world -, but at abstract stage, they playing nowdays, Condemned Cell achieves the tops. I was the witness of pains and failures, but i know the strong character of these men, i know the conditions, where thier music was born. I wish Condemned Cell to create style-independent melodies & rhythms. Good luck! Dmitriy aka Leshiy, 2003 New matherial of Moscow band - Condemned Cell. All tracks from this tape are intend for the future album, which is recording now. What's changed in Condemned Cell's music from The Realm of Stone times? First of all - skilful and moderate keyboards using, also band starts to use viola and solo guitar. You can find six atmospheric festive hymns on this recordings. Six tragedies, that's full of sorrow and sufferings. This is quite interesting and gifted matherial. Progress is apparent, but the main minus of this tape is rehearsel quality. Nevertheless, the final release (may-june 1999) will show full potential of Condemned Cell.
